1. What are the cookies?

In the SynergyLab service two types of cookies can be used – session or persistent. First one stays in the device of the user only while using the service. Persistent cookies stay in the users’ device as long as their lifetime is set, or the user deletes them manually.

a) cookies required for the websites to work – are necessary to proper functioning of the service, they allow te user to use its elements. For example they may remember previous action (eg. opened texts) while returning to the webpage during one session.
b) improving performance cookies – used to collect informations about how the users use the service: which areas do the visit, how much time do they spend there and what problems do they meet, such as error messages. This allows us to develop and improve the service in the proper way.
c) improving functionality cookies – used to remember users’ settings and choices (eg. username, region, that he is in, personalised settings of contents), in order to provide him with better experience. They also allow him to watch movies and use social media tools, such as blogs, chats or forums.
d) advertisements cookies – they aim to provide users with advertisements corresponding to their interests and limiting the amount of their displays. This cookies allow us also to measure the effectiveness of campaigns.
5. Does SynergyLab service use third party’s cookies?
Yes, while using SynergyLab service you can receive cookies from cooperating with the service third party’s subjects, such as Facebook, Google, Twitter, but also from the companies realising advertisements camapigns. 6. In what way the user can alter the settings about the cookies ore delete them?
Most web browsers are initially set to automatically accept cookies. User cany change browser settings to block them – entirely or to some extend, eg. only from third party’s subjects. You can also receive alert everytime when cookies are sent to the users’ device. You should remember, that blocking cookies used by us can negatively affect users’ experience – for example disable access to some parts of the service, receiving personalised information during browsing.
